Blue Cairn Lodge Arras

Your entry into the Val d’Azun, its paths, villages, summits and pastures

Blue Cairn Lodge

In the Val d’Azun (the Pyrenees Garden of Eden, or so they say…) Mandy and Sacha rent out the cottage (4-6 people) all year round, and the “Grand Lodge” over the summer months and during winter school holidays (up to 15 people).  Facing south west and south east both lodges look out onto the big sunny garden, and both have outdoor eating areas.  Blue Cairn Lodge is on the edge the village of Arras en Lavedan with easy access to the bakery, a post office and two bars/restaurants.  For local walks you just head out the door and up or down the hill, onto the numerous local walking tracks and the ‘Tour du Val d’Azun’, the loop walk around the valley.  The village is situated just 5 minutes above Argeles Gazost, a charming small town, and there are numerous activities in the area.  Mandy and Sacha, both international mountain leaders, are on hand to provide advice and support.

Price: 1960€/week for the Lodge + Cottage (sleeps 15) in school holidays (July/August/Xmas-NY/Feb).  450€/week for the Cottage only outside school holidays. See map for location.  Contact to Book: Mandy.

The Val d’Azun

Green and rolling the Val d’Azun is idyllic. Wonderful vegetable gardens, beautiful villages, guarded by the famous Soulor and Aubisque passes which make it a regular on the Tour de France circuit.  Aside from this the valley is a walkers paradise with forests, pasture land and many smaller peaks to tackle. Plenty of sun year round, the valley’s ‘douceur de vivre‘ is legendary.
