Choose from three formulas

Eco Walks High Pyrenees

Six days of hiking departing each morning directly from Les Templiers in Luz St-Sauveur and making the most of the network of hiking trails and the public bus network up and down the valley.

Our routes take you into the mountains around Luz, as far as Gavarnie, along parts of the GR10, to churches, hermitages, castles and along little-used paths. There is much to explore and the joy of not driving anywhere makes you feel truly on holidays ! We are always at hand in case of an emergency, or a bus that doesn't arrive as scheduled.

Cirques and Lakes High Pyrenees

Again using Les Templiers in Luz as your base, but with the flexibility of a car this week offers walks exploring the three glacial cirques of the Mont Perdu World Heritage Area, Gavarnie, Estaubé and Troumouse, along with a series of lovely lakes, Lac de Gaube, Ets Coubous and the lakes above it, and a final choice which will depend on your legs and the weather. There are longer and shorter options for all these walks, and you can of course mix and match with the walks in the Peaks and Passes pack.

Pyrenean Peaks and Passes

With the flexibility offered by a car (we recommend arriving in the Pyrenees by train and then hiring a small car!) you can access the peaks and high passes . The roads allow you to start around 1500-2000m so the 3000m+ peaks become accessible to day walkers. There are a host of options, for both high passes and peaks. Our suggestions are just the tip of the iceberg with plenty of variations possible. The extraordinary scenic variety between the granite outcrops around Cauterets and the Néouvielle Nature Reserve, and the extraordinary glacial cirques carved from the limestone mountains in the Luz-Gavarnie valleys means every day is different.
